IMPORTANTLicense renewal requirements change. This data was compiled in 2026. Always verify current requirements with your state licensing board before your renewal deadline. We built this so you know the question to ask — not so you skip asking it.

We’ll show CE requirements, renewal period, and a deadline countdown.

Read This Before You Rely on This Tool

This data was verified in 2026. It will go stale.

Licensing boards change CE requirements with little fanfare. Florida has changed its breakdown multiple times in the last decade. Texas has adjusted hours. Before you plan your CE schedule, confirm the current requirements directly at your board’s website.

CE provider approval matters.

Completing CE hours through a provider your board hasn’t approved is the same as completing zero hours in their eyes. Every board maintains a list of approved providers. Verify your provider is on it before you pay for the course.

Renewal date = processing date, not issue date.

When you first got your license, the board may have set the expiration date to align with a calendar cycle — meaning your first renewal period might be shorter than a full 2 years. Log into your board account to see your actual expiration date. That number overrides any estimate this tool gives you.

Late renewal has real consequences.

Most boards charge a late fee. Some require a reinstatement process. A few will make you retest. Working with a lapsed license is a code violation and can invalidate your employer’s permits. Set a reminder 6 months out.

PlumbSquare compiled this data from publicly available state licensing board publications in 2026. We are not a licensing authority. Nothing here constitutes legal or licensing advice. Verify all requirements directly with the relevant state board before your renewal deadline.
